Sally Magnusson began her publishing career in 1981 with The Flying Scotsman, her biography of the athlete Eric Liddell. It culminated in 2014 with Where Memories Go, a campaigning memoir inspired by her mother’s dementia.

The books in between ranged from Family Life, a hilarious account of the ups and downs of life with five children under 10, to Life of Pee on the uses of urine and Glorious Things, a collection of favourite hymns.
